May 16, 2022The homeowner found Austin Pro through an internet search and reached out on May 16, 2022. That first conversation covered the failing siding and drafty windows, and we moved into the prospect stage the next day.
Evaluation
During our evaluation, we found warped siding, edge rot in the fascia and soffit, and moisture behind the boards. Seven windows and the front door were leaking air and pollen. Undersized gutters rounded out the list of issues to fix.
Planning & approval
June 7, 2022We laid out a single scope covering siding, windows, gutters, and paint. The homeowner approved the project on June 7, 2022. Windows were ordered June 19 to lock in the Andersen 100 Series units early.
Installation
Windows arrived in early September, so we installed all seven plus the front door over two days that month. The siding crew worked the exterior over several days in early October. The final on-site stretch ran October 21 through October 24, with painting following the Hardie install.

Why did this North Austin home need new siding?
The old cladding had taken a beating from years of Texas sun and storms. Boards were cupping, paint was peeling, and moisture was creeping in behind them. That kind of damage only spreads if you leave it.

What did we find when we inspected the home?
