NT Windows

This Leander project centered on a whole-home window replacement using NT Royal Casement windows from NT Windows. We chose casements because they crank shut tight, which matters during 100-degree summers and heavy cedar pollen. Each unit was sized as a standard window up to 132 united inches to match the home's original openings. The result is a tighter thermal envelope and far less outside noise.

Doors

ProVia

The door scope covered a 6-foot-8 Provia front entry door and two NT KD650 sliding patio doors. All three doors were finished in Midnight, inside and out, to match the new windows. We framed two brand-new openings, one for a 4P-12068 unit and one for a 2P-8068 unit. Careful reframing and mortar repair let both doors sit square and seal clean.

First Contact

The homeowner found us through Local Service Ads and reached out on July 10, 2025. We talked through a full window replacement plus new doors for the Ridgmar home.

Evaluation

A window technician measured every opening to spec, since NT casements are built to exact united-inch sizes. We also assessed the two patio locations, where new openings would need to be framed. That measure step confirmed the 4P-12068 and 2P-8068 door sizes.

PLanning & Approval

We finalized product selections including NT Royal Casements, the NT KD650 sliders, and the Provia entry door. Colors were locked in as Midnight inside and out. The homeowner approved the scope on October 22, 2025, and we placed the full order.

Installation

Once the complete order arrived in February 2026, the crew installed over multiple days. Framers cut two new door openings, a mason repaired the disturbed stone mortar, and we sealed everything with OSI closed-cell spray foam. Sherwin Williams 950A clear caulk finished the exterior seals.

Completion

We walked the home to confirm every window cranked and latched clean and both doors sealed square. The homeowner ended up with a tighter, quieter house and a matching Midnight exterior.

Why did this Ridgmar home need new windows?

The existing windows were tired and letting heat and outside air slip through. In Leander, that means fighting 100-degree summers and thick cedar pollen every year. New casement units gave the homeowner a tight seal and better efficiency.

  • All windows were replaced with NT Royal Casement units
  • Each was sized as a standard window up to 132 united inches
  • Casements crank fully shut for a tighter seal than sliders
  • Cleaner sightlines than the older frames they replaced

Why casement windows for this house?

Casements were the right call here for a simple reason. They latch against the frame and press tight when closed, so there's no loose track to let air leak. That matters a lot during a Central Texas summer, when your AC runs hard for months. Sliders and single-hungs have a small gap where the sashes meet, and over time that gap gets worse. A crank-style casement removes that weak point, which keeps conditioned air in and cedar pollen out.

What did the door work involve?

We handled three very different doors on this job. The front entry is a 6-foot-8 Provia unit, and two other openings got an NT KD650 sliding patio door. All doors were finished in Midnight, inside and out, to tie the whole exterior together.

  • Installed a 4P-12068 sliding patio door
  • Installed a 2P-8068 sliding patio door as a second unit
  • Set the 6'8 Provia front entry door
  • Interior and exterior color: Midnight on all door units

What did the crew find and build on site?

Both patio door locations needed brand-new openings, not just a swap. Our framing crew cut and squared a fresh opening for the 4P-12068 unit and a second one for the 2P-8068. That kind of work sits on top of Leander's limestone soil and older 1990s-era framing, so it has to be measured right the first time. Where we opened the wall, the stone facing was disturbed, so a mason came in to handle the mortar repair. We sealed the new units with OSI closed-cell spray foam, which fills gaps and blocks air far better than standard batt insulation stuffed around a frame. A homeowner who skips that foam step usually ends up with drafts and a door that never quite feels sealed.

  • Framing and woodwork labor to create two new openings
  • Stone mortar repair by a mason after cutting the wall
  • OSI closed-cell spray foam around door and window frames
  • OSI foam cleaner used to keep the finish work tidy

How long did the project take?

Because everything was custom-ordered, this was a wait-then-install job. We placed the window and door order in October 2025 and installed once the full shipment arrived in February 2026. The install itself ran across multiple days.

  • Approved: October 22, 2025
  • Materials sourced through NT Window, McCoys, and other suppliers
  • Install completed over several days in early 2026
  • Project closed out April 9, 2026

Frequently asked questions

Why do custom windows and doors take months to arrive?

Each unit is built to your exact openings, not pulled off a shelf. This order was placed in October and shipped complete in February. We wait for the full order so we can install everything in one clean stretch.

Are casement windows a good fit for Central Texas heat?

Yes. Their crank-and-latch design seals tighter than sliding sashes, so your AC works less during those long 100-degree stretches. That tight seal also helps keep cedar pollen from drifting indoors.

What does a project like this cost?

This full window replacement plus two doors landed in the $30,000 to $40,000 range. Cutting new door openings, mason work, and spray foam sealing all add to a straight replacement.

Why matching the Midnight color inside and out?

The homeowner wanted a consistent look on both faces of the doors. A single Midnight tone inside and out keeps the entry and patio units looking intentional rather than pieced together.
