What did the crew find under the old shingles?

We pulled the old shingles and then took the felt off all the way down to the decking. That step is an extra charge, but it matters. A lot of roofers shingle over old felt to save time, which hides soft spots and nail damage you can't see from the surface.

Going to bare decking let us inspect the wood directly before laying anything new.
