Why did this Shady Hollow home need new gutters?

Central Texas storms drop a lot of water fast. Without solid gutters, that runoff pools near the foundation, and Shady Hollow's limestone-heavy soil doesn't drain kindly.

The homeowner wanted a clean, reliable system before the next big rain season.

What did we find when we inspected the home?

We walked the roofline during our evaluation and checked how water was shedding off each side. The back of the home was the biggest concern, since that slope carried the most volume during heavy rain. We also saw plenty of cedar debris settling in the low spots, which is normal here once pollen season hits. That told us screens weren't optional for this house. Skipping them would mean clogged runs and standing water within a season or two.

What materials did we use, and why?

We went with a Senox 5-inch seamless aluminum system, formed on site so each run has no mid-seam joints. Seamless matters here because joints are the first place leaks start, especially after years of 100-degree summers expanding and contracting the metal. Aluminum won't rust like older steel gutters, and it handles hail far better than thin sections. We sized the downspouts at 3x4 inches instead of the smaller standard, since that extra capacity clears water faster during the sudden downpours Austin gets. For a home on limestone soil, moving water away quickly is the whole point.

How did the installation go?

The crew knocked out the full job in one day. Seamless runs were formed right at the truck, then hung level with proper pitch toward each downspout.
