What did the crew find during tear-off?

A roof looks fine from the ground until you strip it. Once we pulled the old shingles, we checked the decking for soft spots and rot, which is common on homes that have sat under Texas sun and repeated hail for years. We replaced damaged sheathing with new 7/16" x 4' x 8' OSB where needed, because laying premium shingles over weak decking just wastes the shingles.
