Complete James Hardie HardiePlank Select Cedar Mill Siding Installation | Full Sherwin Williams Exterior Repaint of Siding, Trim, Doors and Gutters

This Cedar Park project centered on new James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding. We installed 8.25" HardiePlank Select Cedar Mill, primed for a clean paint finish. Fiber cement handles our 100°+ summers, hail, and cedar pollen far better than old wood siding. The home now has a durable, low-maintenance exterior built for Central Texas.

The secondary scope was a complete exterior repaint in Cedar Park, TX. We used Sherwin Williams Exterior Latex across the siding, doors, fascia, and soffit. We also painted the gutters and downspouts by the linear foot for a uniform look. The latex finish protects the new HardiePlank and resists fading under harsh sun.

This was a returning client who came back to Austin Pro on Oct 11, 2022. They already knew our work from a previous job, so the conversation started with trust. We talked through replacing the aging siding and giving the home a full repaint.
We inspected the existing exterior and gable vents to plan the swap. The old siding showed the wear typical of Cedar Park homes exposed to heat, hail, and pollen. We confirmed HardiePlank Select Cedar Mill as the right fit for the walls.
The project was approved the same day as first contact, Oct 11, 2022. We finalized the 8.25" Primed Select Cedar Mill selection and the Sherwin Williams Exterior Latex color plan. Materials were scheduled through ABC Supply Co.
The crew removed and reframed the gable vents, then installed the new HardiePlank. Once the siding was set, the paint team coated the walls, fascia, soffit, doors, gutters, and downspouts. Two rounds of yard cleanup kept the site tidy.
Work was completed and closed on Feb 14, 2023. We ran a full punch-out to catch any final details before the walkthrough. The homeowner ended with a durable James Hardie exterior and a fresh, uniform Sherwin Williams finish.
We replaced worn exterior walls with new James Hardie fiber cement siding and gave this Cedar Park, TX home a full exterior repaint. The finished result is a durable, sharp-looking exterior built for Central Texas weather.
This was a returning client, which we always take as a good sign. They trusted us with a second job in the $40k–$50k range. That says the first one held up.
Older siding in the Cedar Park area takes a beating. Our summers push past 100°, hail rolls through most springs, and cedar pollen coats everything. Wood and older board siding warp, crack, and soak up moisture over time.
Fiber cement solves most of that. It does not rot, and it shrugs off both heat and impact far better than wood.
We went with 8.25" James Hardie HardiePlank Select Cedar Mill, primed at the factory. Fiber cement is the right call for our climate because it holds up to sun, hail, and moisture. The Cedar Mill texture gives that warm wood grain look while staying low-maintenance.
For the finish, we used Sherwin Williams Exterior Latex. It bonds well to primed Hardie and resists fading under harsh sun.
The crew handled siding and paint as one coordinated job. That kept the timeline tight and the finish consistent. We reframed the gable vents first, then set the new HardiePlank clean and level.
Once the siding was up, the paint crew took over. They coated the walls, fascia, soffit, doors, gutters, and downspouts.
The home now has a full James Hardie exterior with a fresh, uniform Sherwin Williams finish. It looks sharp and it's built to last through Central Texas seasons. Fiber cement means far less maintenance than the old siding.
Work wrapped on Feb 14, 2023. The homeowner got a home that stands up to what Cedar Park throws at it. If you're weighing siding and paint together, doing both at once saves time and gives a cleaner result. Reach out to Austin Pro to talk through your own exterior.
The job was approved on Oct 11, 2022 and completed on Feb 14, 2023. That window covered material ordering, scheduling, and coordinating both trades.
It resists heat, hail, and moisture far better than wood siding. In an area with 100°+ summers and spring hail, that durability matters. It also won't trap cedar pollen the way rough old boards can.
This siding and exterior painting job fell in the $40k–$50k range. The final number depends on square footage, trim work, and paint scope.
Yes. On this job we painted the doors, fascia, soffit, gutters, and downspouts to match. Doing it all at once gives the cleanest, most consistent finish.
