Installation

Why did this Cedar Park home need new siding?
Many homes in this part of Cedar Park were built in the 1990s and early 2000s. The original siding on those houses tends to fade, cup, and soak up moisture after two decades of Texas weather. This home was showing that same wear.

What did the crew find on site?
When we pulled the old material, we looked hard at the sheathing and trim behind it. This is the step most homeowners never see, and it's the one that decides how long the new siding lasts. Fiber cement is heavy and only performs when the wall behind it is sound and flat. We confirmed the framing was solid, corrected the fastening plan, and prepped the fascia and soffit before a single new board went up. Skipping that prep is the most common way a siding job goes wrong.

We installed James Hardie HardiePlank in the Select Cedar Mill texture, 8.25 inches wide and factory-primed. Fiber cement doesn't warp in 100-degree heat, and it shrugs off hail and pests that chew through wood. The Cedar Mill grain gives a natural wood look without the rot risk.
