This Maple Run project started with a full window replacement using NT Windows vinyl units. We chose NT vinyl for its heat resistance and low maintenance in Austin's 100°-plus summers. The old frames leaked air and let UV pour in, so tight new seals made an immediate comfort difference. Ordered in July and installed in September, the windows set the stage for the siding work.

The siding phase used James Hardie fiber cement in an 8.25" primed Select Cedar Mill profile. Fiber cement handles Central Texas hail and heat far better than old wood or vinyl. We added Tyvek ThermaWrap LE (R2) for a weather barrier, then painted with Sherwin Williams SuperPaint. Fascia, soffit, columns, and garage jambs were all wrapped and finished to match.
The homeowner found Austin Pro through an internet search and reached out on June 16, 2025. That first conversation covered the aging windows and worn exterior on this 1980s Maple Run home.
We inspected the existing windows and cladding on site and confirmed the frames were leaking air and heat. The walk-around also flagged worn siding, old gutters, and porch columns that needed wrapping.
We built a combined windows-and-siding scope and the homeowner approved it on July 14, 2025. Selections included NT Windows vinyl units, James Hardie 8.25" Cedar Mill siding, and Sherwin Williams SuperPaint colors.
The NT Windows units were ordered in late July, arrived in September, and went in first. We then ran Tyvek ThermaWrap LE, installed the James Hardie siding, wrapped the fascia, columns, and garage jambs, and painted every surface over several days.
We removed the old gutters, completed two yard cleanups, and finished the punch list on October 16, 2025. The homeowner got a tighter, hail-ready exterior, and the job closed on October 30, 2025.

Every new surface got sealed and finished with Sherwin Williams SuperPaint. Paint on fiber cement is more than looks, it locks out moisture and holds color under harsh UV.
The home now has a sealed envelope, matched trim, and a clean modern face. We finished with two yard cleanups and a punch-out walkthrough on October 16, 2025.
Setting the windows first lets us flash and seal each opening cleanly, then tie the new weather barrier and siding right into those flanges. Doing it in the other order almost always leaves weak points around the frames.
