Why did this Whispering Hollow home need a new roof?

This was an insurance claim after storm damage, which is common across Buda after a hard hail season. The approved scope was a full replacement, not a patch.

What did the crew find on the decking?

Once we pulled the old shingles, we removed the felt all the way down to the plywood so we could inspect every inch of the deck. That step is one homeowners often skip to save money, and it's a mistake. Hidden soft spots and water-damaged OSB will telegraph right through a brand-new roof if you shingle over them. We found areas that needed fresh 7/16-inch OSB sheathing, so we swapped those panels before laying anything new. Buda's mix of heat and sudden storms punishes a deck over the years, and a solid base is the whole reason a roof lasts.

How did we handle attic ventilation?

A hot Buda attic bakes shingles from below and drives up cooling bills all summer. We installed a proper exhaust vent along the ridge to let that trapped heat escape.
